Within the familiar and safe walls of the Shattered Skull Zed explained to the assembled adventurers that he had felt something unexplainable. Zed knew that the stirrings, the dark mist that swirled about his mind were coming from the Abyss. He knew that the time was coming… Raising his eyes to the crowd he said, “ There are more daemons crossing over into this world than is normal. There is an unbalance… Tis our quest this eve to attempt to restore that balance even though it may be a fools errand.”

The gathered adventurers nodded their heads in accent. “We must plunge into the depths of Hythloth and face the daemons there. We must slay a number of them and we must face the Black Daemons that reign there said Zed.

After what seemed like forever Zed could feel the balance of Magicks change. With the death rattle of yet another daemon Zed was sure that their work there was done. The party returned to the Shattered Skull. Their numbers thinned. Their constitutions tested.

Zed thanked those that had helped. He said, “We have accomplished our task for this eve. For now the balance is restored.” Sighing Zed said, “I am sure that this is nay ended but at least we can rest his eve. Ye have earned it.”

Zed cocked an eye towards Aithne as he opened a moongate. To Terrig Wis M’Lord. There is much to discuss…

The two friends disappeared into the shimmering moongate leavening the tavern silent and lonely...
