A Chance for Peace

Another interesting night in Skara Brae. Things certainly have changed in the last month or so. Tonight was another night in the ongoing struggle between the Dark Alliance and RSB/OTW. Lines are blurring and it doesn't seem to be good versus evil anymore, more like Side One versus Side Two. The meeting started off well with an injection of hope. Zed has returned to the fold. Everyone was pleased to see him for he was sorely missed. On top of that Stella Maris has recovered from her illness and was able to attend the meeting as well. However even the presence of Stella and Zed was not enough to keep the meeting in order this eve.

The town hall was packed to the rafters with members of RSB/AoJ, OTW, and the Dark Alliance. There was an immense amount of posturing and bullying going on between the two sides despite the repeated calls for order from the Council and Leaders of the respective factions. I believe too much friction has come together between the two groups for them to even sit peacefully for a short period of time together. Quite abit of the disagreements seem to be steming from the Dark Alliance's claim to Skara Brae. Apparently OTW and RSB were defeated while fighting in Skara and the Dark Alliance has seen fit to claim lordship over the freehold. Suprisingly though they seemed very open to a peaceful agreement that would allow both sides to co-exist in town. The Dark Alliance wishes to have a hand in ruling the town but is willing to share power with the Council in deciding town business. The ironic part of this is that the Council is open to all who wish to be citizens of Skara and did not require any bloodshed for this to happen. There is resistance to this movement. I believe parties on both sides do not wish to see such an agreement and I myself am skeptical that any type of peace is possible at this time.

Somewhere towards the middle of the meeting heavy bickering broke out between OTW and leaders of the Dark Alliance. OTW left for a short time and returned later to ambush the Dark Alliance while they sat at the conference table. It was a blatant act of disrespect at such peace accords and in my opinion a cowardly attack. Others I am sure will have their own opinion on this matter but they can start their own journal if they wish to express their views.

The meeting broke down at this point and things did not calm down until combative members of OTW and the Dark Alliance left. I hope they went out and massacred each other. It seems that this will be the only hope for peace. Once the meeting returned to normal preceedings there was discussion of upcoming events. There looks to be a few intriguing activities in the near future. The Pirates of the Drunken Maiden are planning to hold a Blackmarket day where one can purchase goods at low prices, as long as you aren't worried about where they came from. The council is also planning a Bazaar in March and there may be a union of these two events into a mega sellathon. Zed announced that he would continue his storytelling and that it could resume as close as next week at the Skull. An addition to that event could include the singing of Marissa but that is yet to be seen. That pretty well sums up the events of the meeting, I'll just have to wait until next week to see what happens.
