Ever have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong? This was one of those nights. It started off innocently enough but I suppose that is how it always begins. Just before the council meeting planned for this eve I received word from Lady Stella that she would not be in attendance due to illness. It is never good news to hear that one's friend is ill. A few of us decided to soldier on without Stella so Sam, Chentelle, and I sat around the town hall mostly chit chatting for lack of anything better to do. Apparently I was not entertaining enough to keep Sam for long. She left after it became apparent that no one else would come. Chentelle and I continued on, enjoying a few cakes that Stella had arranged to leave for the meeting. After last weeks cake shortage I was quite content to sit around. Eating cake and talking with a lovely woman is a good night in my book. However even good nights must come to an end and just before I could get up to leave a chill breeze blew into the council chamber.

At the door way was Landreth, a citizen of the City of the Damned. He seemed to be looking for someone and was not much in the mood for conversation. He did however bade us to wait and went riding off. I wasn't sure what to expect and was suprised when a troupe of Rangers and Wolves filed into the council chamber. I was delighted to see the forces of light present once again in town but that feeling did not last long. There was a look of despair upon many of their faces and I soon found out why. Zed, Elder of the Council of the Nine is missing! All clues seem to point to the Drow. The Rangers and Wolves are investigating the situation and that does give me hope. If any can find him it will be them.

After this all hell seemed to break loose. A group of Orcs and Drow invaded Skara Brae. My worst fears have come true and the city has been plunged into conflict. It was not possible this eve to avoid the sounds and sights of battle. The battle as I saw it was fierce and bloody. Both sides took heavy casualties. I couldn't tell who was winning. I am sure there are others who have different views on this battle and I must admit I do not have a trained eye when it comes to such conflict. I do know that it is rapidly becoming impossible to stand on the sidelines.
